SINOPSIS Nacida en Sokone en 1926, Annette Mbaye d’Erneville, madre del realizador William Mbaye, fue la primera periodista de Senegal. Desde muy pronto, se implicó en el desarrollo de su país. Pionera y anticonformista, militó por la causa de la emancipación de las mujeres. Vivió varios años en Francia, donde estudió, y regresó a Senegal en 1957, presintiendo que había llegado el momento de la Independencia.
SYNOPSIS Née à Sokone en 1926, Annette Mbaye d’Erneville, la mère du réalisateur William Mbaye, fut la première journaliste du Sénégal. Elle s’est très tôt sentie concernée par le développement de son pays. Militante de la première heure pour la cause de l’émancipation des femmes, elle est à la fois une pionnière et une anti conformiste. Elle a partagé sa vie entre la France, où elle a étudié, et le Sénégal, où elle est retournée en 1957, pressentant que le temps de l’Indépendance était arrivé.
SYNOPSIS Born in Sokone in 1926, Annette Mbaye d’Erneville, mother of director William Mbaye, was the first Senegalese female journalist. She was deeply involved in the development of her country. Both an activist and a non-conformist, she fought for the emancipation of women from the beginning. She divided her life between France, where she studied, and Senegal, where she returned in 1957, sensing that independence was on its way.
